Springfontein Cottages

Whether for a short stay, a few days or a full week of holidays, you will find the ideal room in one of our “Klein aber Fine” - little but fine range of places.

Nestled under majestic Milkwood trees, our Riverside Cottages offer three suites in an authentic South African house with thatched roof on the Klein River side of our farm.

The historic cottage has recently been renovated with extreme attention to detail, trying to preserve it’s ancient charme.

Two of the suites each offer a large bedroom with a breathtaking view on the Maanskynkop mountain, a comfortable sitting room and a large en-suite bathroom (with shower and bathtub).

The third suite additionally features an open living plan, a nice fireplace for the cooler days, a shaded patio for a relaxing time, and a private swimming pool.

One of the Estate’s two jettys to the Klein River is in walking distance.

Springfontein River Lodge

The former “Stanford River Lodge” joined the Springfontein family in 2021. Since, we are extremely proud to accommodate our guests in this tranquil place on the edge of the Klein River. A beautiful panorama of the Klein River Mountain range is guaranteed.

Dining at Springfontein Wine Estate

Come and experience our new fine dining concept, showcasing Springfontein wines paired with one-of-a-kind culinary highlights of Chef Edwin Vinke and his son Tom, from the acclaimed 2 Michelin Dutch restaurant, De Kromme Watergang.

Taking flavor to the next level, wine is at the spotlight of combination. Edwin’s creativity coupled with his playfulness and skill, hits upon the perfect carefully prepared dish to best highlight the singularity of Springfontein wines.

Ulumbaza Wine Bar(n) at Springfontein Wine Estate

“Ulumbaza” means “House of Joy”, and this is the farm’s more than 200-year-old thatched stable, where today we serve not only the wines of the same name, but all available ones from Springfontein.

The ULUMBAZA also offers smaller and larger delicacies of regional cuisine to savour all day long, including dry-aged steaks, the quality of which we ensure ourselves with special high-tech maturing cabinets. 

In addition, we organize Live-Music concerts with selected local musicians, and Wine evenings at irregular intervals.

Activities at Springfontein Wine Estate

Boat Cruise - Enjoy a trip on the AQS- African Queen of Springfontein boat, on the Klein River which crosses the farm.

Farm & Surroundings - Guided vineyard and cellar tours are available upon request. 

Canoes are available for use on the river and there are several swimming pools as well as a tennis court.
